I posted this as we commemorated the 80th Anniversary of VE day not just because I felt it was important to remember it at this very difficult time, but also to stave off some rather peculiar Erroneousness in the HBO TV Series "Band of Brothers" involving Autobahns.
ReplyDeleteWhoever was in the TV Shows Research Office must have read different Books on the Subject to those we did because ours told us that the Proto SAS, Tito's Partisans and the People who captured the Pegasus Bridge on D Day were the Allies.
As we are about to celebrate the 82nd Anniversary of the Allied Landings at Normandy I thought I'd relaunch the Post - particularly as one of our People - Simon Fraser AKA Lord Lovat - was one of those People.
Maybe you should watch the 1962 Classic "The Longest Day" where Lovat was played quite appropriately by Camelot Associate Peter Lawford.
