This is where I post observations about some of the Crap that is inflicted on us these Days masquerading as "Products". That you start to realise you have more sense than the People who are paid to design the things we use in our every day lives.

There are many examples I'll post here but because this is the one that probably impacts most People's lives everywhere in the World I thought I'd open up with increasingly crappy and useless Microsoft Products .......

Has anyone else noticed this, from the horribly toxic Windows 10 OS to how Windows Media Player no longer downloads Album Info when you copy a CD to your Hard Disc?

Windows 10 ...... Why?????

For years we used a great OS called Windows XP that was compact on your Storage, didn't use up too many resources in your RAM when working and was very robust. You had to install several Service Packs and there were a few Versions for more advanced Computers but these were small inconveniences compared to the very reliable System it was.

Then, Microsoft decided to discontinue it and inflicted a toxic pile of Crap called Windows 10. All the streamlined reliability of XP was gone as it's ponderous and bloated Processes gradually seized up your RAM. You'd right click on a Document and the whole system froze and crashed, and just when you thought you'd got through all that it decides to shut down to configure itself or install Updates.

It gets worse as I discovered the other day when the Computer had shut down and restarted while in Sleep mode and I almost had to sign in to use my own PC. In small Letters at the bottom of the Screen was "skip for now" but it was like it had shut me out.

Then, there's all the Software you'd bought and used during XP that won't work with Windows 10. Because XP went on for a long time that's a lot of accumulated Programs that were rendered useless when it ended because it won't work with the new OS.

Windows Media Player ........

Remember when you could copy your CDs to your Hard drive using WMP and it would find and catalogue the Album Info for you when you did? All you had to do was go to "Music" and there it all was - indexed and ready to play - Artist. Album, Track name, duration etc. A lot of time you'd also get the Artwork for the Record.

It doesn't do this anymore.

Now you have to manually type in all the above - and some of it you can't edit - while finding it in "Music" is difficult because it is in a Folder called "Unknown Artist". Once you have found it you have to rename each Track using your Keyboard. Imagine how long that takes when it's one of those 100 greatest Songs type CD's with various Artistes.

And you have to do it with the Folder rather than on the Media Player Window because using the latter won't store your laboured Details on the Harddrive.

All this because they shut down the Server that did all this for you.

And how about the Hotmail or outlook Client?????

You're in a Queue and there are 20 people behind you. You're stressed as you desperately scroll through 100's of emails trying to find the one about these Booking you made. The thing is, you made it a couple of Weeks ago so it's buried in all the other Mails you've had in that time. So while you desperately scroll through your inbox those 20 People and the Person at the Counter are getting increasingly impatient while you do.

And why are you having to?

Because the Geeks at Microsoft have decided to fiddle with the email Client so it neither has a Folder called "Bookings" or the means to create one. There are other rather useless predetermined ones like "Casino" but nothing as crucial as one for those important and sometimes very expensive Bookings.

Then you have to be very careful you don't delete the necessary Email - which is very easy to do - otherwise you have no proof you ever made and paid for the Booking.

At least when you went through a Travel Agent you were given an actual Ticket or something else to support your Booking.

And to think, they want us to do everything online don't they - when it starts to look like it's all run by imbeciles who weren't in any queue at all when the Common Sense was handed out.

Is it any wonder that entire Governments and groups of Governments are abandoning Microsoft Products completely? From Operating Systems, to Browsers, Media products and Office Suites, they are all starting to use alternatives.
