Hillary is no Jackie Kennedy/Onassis.

There was this Hype, this Palava that told us Bill Clinton was the new JFK. They looked glamorous as the President and First Lady moved into the Whitehouse in 1993. They were dubbed as liberal as their 'Camelot' Comparison, but the similarity ended there. It most certainly ended there  if it ever existed at all when the Stories started to emerge about how Hillary treated Whitehouse Staff. How she fired People, hit them apparently, and demeaned them in front of everyone, even him.

What is intriguing about all this is how it says that sometimes looks can say what they mean, and also be deceptive. That while - on the Surface - Hillary Clinton seemed sassy (even Micheal Moore was seduced), Jackie Kennedy Onassis was both - as above so below. We never heard Stories about her assaults on Bodyguards, we never heard how she might have fired anyone - although she wanted to redecorate a drab and shabby Whitehouse when her and Jack moved in, and while she seemed demure .............. she was. She was even more popular than her Husband when they visited Paris. No-one ever called Marine One "The Broom".

To illustrate this see these.............

Jackie as First Lady

Despite losing her Son - Patrick, being widowed in November 1963, losing her Brother in Law in 1968, and widowed again in 1975, stylish as ever Jackie still outshines the incumbent First Lady - Nancy Reagan in 1985.

Hillary Clinton's official Portrait in 1992. Unfortunately it deteriorates after this, and while it is difficult to compare this with the Hillary of recent years (I won't post any of those), all of this suggests that in this instance the Camera didn't lie. It's like a Chronology of how things ended up - or even saw through the Facade. That while the above was as below with Jackie Kennedy Onassis, this saw the above deteriorate as it tried to hide the below.

I began to feel that the Clinton's were a Parody of the Kennedy's - this somehow proves it.

I decided to post this in all these Threads for those who haven't read it.

  2. In the gathering Storm of the next Presidential Election here is someone hoping Hillary won't be running for Office this time ....

I tend to agree, and while there might be some who think she'd make good Entertainment Fodder the Issues plaguing America, and the American People deserve far better.

That she seems oblivious to the growing Anger at Inequality in America suggests she would be incapable of tackling any of it, while the Cabal of Clintonites updating their Resumes assuming Office if she won is another good reason why she shouldn't.

The Kennedys were very attuned to the Anger at the many Inequalities and Injustices of their America and were very proactive at dealing with them. They spoke to Racism and laid the Groundwork for what would become Lyndon Johnsons Great Society - his War on Poverty and his Civil Rights Act - which would have been impossible without their Preamble.

  3. Also, while People hope there won't be another Clinton Candidacy - it seems some have created the latest Angle like it was still the 1990's.

"Jack n Jones" T'Shirts, obviously mistakenly perpetuating the Myth that Bill was Jack Kennedy while the 'Jones' presumably refers to his alleged Mistress, Paula Jones. Not sure who the Paula Jones equivalent is but the Comparison to Kennedy is conpletely fallacious for many of the above reasons.

  4. We also had a Ms Flowers too didn't we!

Whether this is coming from the Democrat Party infusing things with built in Obsolescences, a mischevous Republican Party, or just a few Gutter Press Hacks creating a Story I was relieved that this sort of Insincerity did not gain Access to everything from the Launch Codes to the Federal Budget in 2016.

While I thought the Kennedys were quite sincere and went out on a Limb many times to promote something like social Justice, I can't say the same for the Facsimile masquerading as them since.

Jack Kennedys handling of the Cuban Missile Crisis showed how much he had matured and learned after the Bay of Pigs Fiasco as he faced down the same Forces in his Defence Establishment. Bobby's dealings with Martin Luther King and how he squared up to reactionary, segregationist elements in his own Party made a substantial Dent for Civil Rights.

President Trump was a Republican Candidate, but wasn't part of the Party Establishment, and whether it was those who voted for him, or People voting for Brexit here I'd hoped that that Establishment - Liberal or Neoconservative, Socialist or Conservative - might realise how they weren't connecting with People anymore.

That they weren't going to put up with the glib, arrogant and assumptive spun and stage managed Same old same old. In 2016 they expressed this at the Ballot Box, more recently on the Streets.

What both have showed was the disaffection of Right and Left, not just in America - but everywhere!

Hmmm, those "Roads", or even Rhodes and all that Drone, Blah.

Sheesh, with so called 'Liberals' like that who needed GWB and Dick Cheney?

  6. The next big things are the January 6th Committee Hearings - where they will probe the Invasion of the Capitol in response to the recent Presidential Election. Might I remind People that this Story didn't start in 2020, it started in 2016 when Trump won because the Dems fielded horrible Hillary instead of anyone better.

Also, I wonder if they'll show Footage of People doing same invading the Legislature in Hong Kong recently!

  7. Now Bobby Kennedy Jnr has announced his Candidacy for the next US presidential Election I wonder if Biden will have the same decency Lyndon Johnson had in 1968 ....

"I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president."

This was because of the growing furore over the War in Vietnam and how the War on Poverty had failed, partially because of that War.

Maybe Robert Kennedy might achieve what Sirhan Sirhan brutally ended for his Father at the Ambassador Hotel that year.

Some have said Johnson's refusal caused Political Chaos, but maybe Biden not doing the same could be the cause of it.

  8. Meanwhile, as the US Election gathers pace isn't the World fed up with the either/or American Politics has sunk to?

That in 2016 we were being blackmailed by a Choice that meant Hillary = more War (Iran probably) or Donald Trump who invokes as much Controversy as Hillary's Husband did.

That we watch the other side of the Atlantic and can't understand why the World's wealthiest Country, with 4 Ivy league Colleges, can put a Man on the Moon, establish itself in just 250 years and has over 300Million People couldn't find 2 better Candidates than that.

2020 was murky, with peculiarities in the Postal Votes during COVID.

And now we have more of the same, with Octogenarian Joe and Septuagenarian Donald who've both vied with each other to see who can be more controversial. I remember when Elections were about how the Candidates were going to improve things and what they had to offer.

Instead we now have slanging Matches between Supporters and Hollywood Actors.

So while Joe is in his 80's and Donald in his 70's Jackie's Husband was still in his 40's and had a lot more to offer when he became President in 1961.

It also says a lot that his Nephew has to run as an Independent instead of the Democrat Party of 2024.

  9. And while Hillary is no Jackie Kennedy Joe Biden is no Lyndon Johnson.

Although, internally the War in Vietnam was devastating and the Death Toll ran into the Millions, externally the impact was minimal with no recessed Economies, no Threats to Food Security and no dangerously polarised World that could descend into Catastrophe. Also, one side in the Conflict had a fatality Rate that ran into a few 1000 after 3 years, not 100's of 1000 like we've seen in Ukraine.

But despite all this Kennedys former Vice President Lyndon Johnson had the Decency to believe his position as President was made untenable by the War and he made this announcement.....

""Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president."

In this Election year you wonder why Biden doesn't make a similar Announcement.

You could have asked the same Question of a Certain Richard Cheyney too, after the Debacle Iraq turned into.

  10. And while Hillary is no Jackie Kennedy Joe Biden is no Lyndon Johnson.

Although, internally the War in Vietnam was devastating and the Death Toll ran into the Millions, externally the impact was minimal with no recessed Economies, no Threats or actual Damage to to Food and Fuel Security and no dangerously polarised World that could descend into Catastrophe. Also, one side in the Conflict had a fatality Rate that ran into a few 1000 after 3 years, not 100's of 1000 like we've seen in Ukraine in less time. Indeed, even after 10 years America had lost 55,000 Men in Vietnam while Ukraine has lost 10 times that in only 2.

But despite all this Kennedys former Vice President Lyndon Johnson had the Decency to believe his position as President was made untenable by the War and he made this announcement.....

  11. I've just watched in horror the CNN TV Presidential Debate .......

I won't list the many things that were wrong with it because there are too many of them, but if you see it you'll realise why it must be the worst Debate in the History of these things.

The first, Kennedy Vs Nixon in 1960, merely focussed on how the Republican wasn't quite as photogenic as the Democrat - but that was about it.

This one seemed lousy with Recriminations with neither offering anything.

    ReplyDelete
  12. In all the Barnham and Bailey Nonsense what everyone seems to forget is how this years Presidential Election is probably the defining moment for the World. That in the Preamble everything has moved into a place where error from Capitol Hill could be disastrous.

The Stakes are far too high to indulge in such frivolity.

  13. While we can heave a Sigh of Relief that Joe Biden has decided to stand down from the 2024 Election Campaign the Gloaters on Social Media seem to have embraced the perverse Logic of sounding like Thom Yorke, when merely googling "Thom Yorke on Trump" tells you what the Radiohead Singer thinks about him.

Also, while Hillary is no Jackie Kennedy Donald Trump is no Bobby, whatever stage management went on with that Shooting. Whoever pulled that (or those) Triggers was either a very good, or very bad, Shot. Good if he/they meant to miss, bad if he/they couldn't hit a static Target stood at a Lectern.

Whoever shot Bobby's Brother did so at a moving Target and scored several hits when doing so.

And having mentioned all that, there's no mention at all about RFK Juniors Campaign.

With Biden gone many disaffected Democrats will vote for him because they can't vote for Trump.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Robert Kennedy Junior winning the Election would do a lot to make things right....

Like his Father he could do what was needed to end a War that has been going on for far too long and become very dangerous, and similarly, as RFK Senior met Anatoly Dobrinin and ended the 1962 Missile Crisis, he could achieve something similar by meeting either Sergei Lavrov or Vladimir Putin himself,

He could scoop up many disaffected Democrats who couldn't vote for Kamala Harris, but wouldn't cross the Line and vote for Trump, and maybe indirectly rehabilitating the Democrat Party in the Process. The Party has been so damaged in recent years by Scandal and a very oppressive Elite that seems to assume they have some presumptuous Right to rule. Selecting Joe Biden at all showed this, while there are others who haven't gone away.

That would be reinforced if, as an Independent, and by forcing the Democrat Party into 3rd place the Democrats would then have to do some serious Soul searching about what has gone wrong with them in recent years.

In the end why isn't he running as one?

And it would also make right an Injustice that has lingered for 56 years since that horrible Day in June 1968.

But while all this goes on one thing I do hope is this .......

While Biden might have bowed out of the Election Campaign he hasn't resigned from the Office many believe he isn't capable of holding. That while everyone focusses on the Campaigns of the remaining Candidates they don't ease off of whatever Scrutiny the President has been subjected to

  15. And are we supposed to take anything from the US Legislatures seriously after 'the Donald' assured us for Months he was against the War in Ukraine, how he would "end it in 24 Hours" etc and then voted for the recent Money and Weapons Package?

Any Political Theater like the supposed Commission Enquiry apparently probing Anthony Blinken is exactly that, while what makes the one doing the Probing think he's somehow better?

They're all as bad as each other!

Maybe we should have a look at Washington's equivalent of Hansard to see if anyone in that Glass House should be throwing Stones!

I think both Trump and Harris will say everything they think the Public wants to hear to get elected. Once they are it's either more, or worse, than the same!

As for this supposed Shooting .....

Not only does the alleged, it says here, according to this, 'Shooter' tick all the convenient Boxes he was either a very good shot who meant to miss (after all Trump isn't exactly small) or a very bad one and missed (after all, Trump isn't exactly small)!

  16. And I s'pose the Narrative for Ukraine is wearing a bit thin and increasingly full of Holes, amongst other things, so let's have a War with China - eh Donald!

Except a War with China is just more War with Russia.

As much as not being posh Freddie at "unheard" allows me to have an Opinion on anything .....

As I said, there are probably sister Channels called "Unseen" and "Unspoken" too!

  18. The Impression we're given is that the whole Ukraine Shambles is exclusively the Fault of Obama/ Biden - with a Preamble given by GWB - but Donald Trump was President through 4 years of it - 2017-2020.

He could have ended the Program during those years while many voted for him because he wasn't warmongering Hillary, but he didn't.

He continued the training and arming Program of the Ukrainian Army.

It's also difficult to know how he might diffuse the Situation with Iran given he was the one who assassinated Qasem Soleimani.

  19. While People in this Country (UK) - myself included - might have become a bit sceptical of our Political Scene of late at least it doesn't seem to have descended into the Toxicity of some others.

Whoever wins an Election we don't suddenly see Street Battles by the other side like we did in America in 2016 and 2020.

We seem to see the opposite like we did in 1997 when Tony Blair won his unprecedented Landslide for New Labour. While all that is now irredeemably tarnished by things they did in the years before Blair resigned and Gordon Browns appointment as PM was something if a non-Event, it showed we seemed to promote what could be done and had a more positive attitude to it.

We didn't see a load of Street Battles by disgruntled Tories, and in 2010 - when David Cameron won by a slim majority - the Socialists didn't start manning the Barricades.

I shudder to think what will happen once the November Election Results are announced in America later this year.

Will we see a repeat of 2016 and 2020?

And what happened in America in those years wasn't a Protest by any disaffected Underclass or Ethnic Group like we have seen in inner Cities of the developed World. They were no Detroit or Brixton. They were mainstream People who right or wrong chose not to accept the Result of an Election.
